What Is Constipation?
Constipation can be severe for many, with people reporting
not 'going' for 2, 3 or even 4 or more days. Doctors have been
know to say that going every 2 or 3 days is 'within normal
limits' and not a cause for concern.
We disagree strongly. Retaining waste matter in a luke-warm
human body for several days is going to produce extra harmful
bacteria and their waste products, many of which are toxic.
What Is Normal
Regularity? The body is designed to pass
food waste through to the rectum, then excrete it. We have
trained the colon to let us hold on to stools until a
convenient time; but we should not take this further than
absolutely necessary.
We should expect to have a bowel movement - logic tells us -
about AS OFTEN AS WE EAT. Otherwise, part of the colon is
acting as a reservoir - which is a bad thing. Food waste will
putrefy and ferment here which leads to problems.
But I Have Not Experienced 2-3 Bowel Movement A Day For
Decades - Or Ever!
In our view, all the more reason to do something about it.
Your body is designed to have 2-3 bowel movements a day. Any
less indicates a level of constipation.
